Most recent EU Framework 7 project: ROADIDEA, as Senior Consultant at Demis BV, Delft, The Netherlands, where Poul Grashoff (http://www.linkedin.com/pub/grashoff-poul-grashoff/1/ba6/251) and I look after the Dissemination and Exploitation Tasks for this project, and previously worked together on the Reorient project where I led the dissemination and knowledge base and communication and collaborations tools and utilisation tasks from Edinburgh Napier University (www.reorient.org.uk).

Previous EU projects include OPUS (http://www.opus-project.org/), led by Prof John Polak (http://www3.imperial.ac.uk/people/j.polak ; http://www.cts.cv.ic.ac.uk/html/Staff/staffDetails.asp?id=JWP) of Imperial College London, where I was responsible for Internal Audit and communications function, and

ReOrient, on EU Railway policy and potential: 2004-2007, CoOrdinated by ToI in Norway), where I was responsible for the Knowledge Base (a combination of Document Repository, advanced search tools (TeraText) communications systems (Wikis, email management video conferencing), thematic mapping tools, OPen GIS access, and datacube analysis, developed by Robert Kukla and I to operational level by mid 2005). This KB is still running stably 6 years after project completion, subsequently served another EU Framework project (WorldNet) throughout its life and still garners >2000 hits a month... check it out at www.reorient.org.uk where the public components of the underlying >10Gb of materials are still operational and accessible. It also hosts a 2500 paper repository of the Association for European Transport annual conference papers, but not as a publicly accessible resource (at) where this full scale searchable OAI PMH compliant Repository was built in 3 days by Robert Kukla and Alan Cannon as a demonstration of how researchers can deliver swiftly repository tools that serve multi institutional networks.. and to illustrate the power of the RKB infrastructure, which has subsequently been declared Open Source. This raid build included an inverted tree approach to the generation of efficient keywords, which offered the ability to extend existing Thesauri to cover methodological terms with an equally efficient testing and verification via search processes
